Assists higher-level network control technicians in the testing, analysis, and monitoring of the network facilities. The incumbent advises higher-level technicians/supervisor of network status/failures.
Assists higher-level network control technicians in testing and analyzing all elements of complex network facilities (including power, software, communication devices, lines, modems and terminals). Provides basic level technical support for network services. Monitors network to ensure its availability to all users. Monitors the performance and status of the network resources. Utilizes software and hardware tools and identify and diagnose simple problems and factors affecting network performance. Observes the status and performance of all components of network facilities. Assists in analyzing symptoms for accurate isolation of customer and network problems. Answers incoming problem call from sites and resolves associated tickets.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and three to four years experience within a network environment.
Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
