Job Description:
To support the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy (OUSD(P)), CACI is seeking qualified professionals to apply for Non-Personal Services positions as contracted Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Specialists. This position requires the successful applicant to analyze, manage, and process all FOIA, Mandatory Declassification Review (MDR), and Security Review Program Management (SR) cases tasked to OUSD(P), and provide related process support and guidance to Policy personnel tasked as subject matter experts (SMEs) for each case. This includes receiving incoming tasks and guidance from the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), conducting initial classification reviews/searches for responsive documents, identifying and marking proposed redactions consistent with law and policy to draft recommended appropriate responses on behalf of Policy, delivering documents to the Policy SME(s) for case review and edits, and conducting administrative FOIA support services within the office of the OUSD(P) Executive Secretariat. This position also includes providing FOIA process and case management expertise to the OUSD(P) workforce (action officers, administrative staff, and leaders). Development of professional rapport and trust with the OUSD(P) work force with respect to FOIA judgment and expertise is critical to the applicant’s success.
Typically requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and seven to nine years of related (project support or management) experience.
 
Other qualifications which are highly encouraged are: knowledge of OUSD(P) mission and tasks; experience in foreign policy, U.S. defense strategy and policy, and regional or international affairs; knowledge of and experience working in the U.S. Government FOIA, MDR, and SR programs; and skills to create and manage all related data for the purposes of tracking the status of cases and prioritizing effort.
