Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:
As a recognized authority, evaluates, designs, documents, installs, implements, tests, performs problem isolation and resolution, monitors, tunes, and sets standards. Maintains a complex range of computer network components and systems.
 
RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Plans and coordinates major computer network training initiatives. Researches, evaluates, and recommends new computer network equipment and technologies.

- Utilizes monitoring, performance analysis, network management, software and hardware equipment to trouble shoot and isolate problems, gauge network performance, and trace data and protocol activity.

- Devises solutions to complex operational problems within the capacity and operational limitations of installed equipment.

-  Develops and executes contingency plans for network software and hardware failures including isolated and major outages.

- Provides internal consulting, technical guidance, information and support to application developers, computer operations, workstation support, company management and departmental clients.

- Assists in internal training programs. 

- Provides client consulting and training on the interfacing and use of the network facilities.

- Plans and coordinates major computer network initiatives.

- Researches, evaluates, and recommends new computer network equipment and technologies.

- Utilizes monitoring, performance analysis, network management, software and hardware equipment to trouble shoot and isolate problems, gauge network performance, and trace data and protocol activity.

- Analyzes current products and recommends changes/upgrades to senior management.

- Collaborates with other technical staff and management in the testing of new software and network technologies.

- Keeps abreast of relevant technologies and maintains selected technical certifications.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Must have an active TS/SCI with Poly.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent and 12 to 15 years of relevant experience are required.

- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience, in network administration or engineering, information systems, systems development, and/or systems administration
- Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and configuring tests, scenario-based labs and exercises in line with course delivery and instruction needs
- Demonstrated strong familiarity with Virtual Network environments and products
- Demonstrated experience with configuration and development of networking environments employing both software and hardware resources
- Experience operating in TS/SCI and unclass environments
Desired
- Minimum 2 years experience working within the Intel field
- Demonstrated experience to include but not limited to IT networking, mobile and desktop operating systems (IOS, android, Windows, Linux)Computer programming and scripting languages
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
