Duties and Responsibilities:
CACI has an opening for a Systems Administrator, Lead in our Norfolk, VA location to support the Naval Facilities Command (NAVFAC) Engineering Team. The selected candidate will be responsible for the system engineering of Netapp FAS SAN's, with Cisco UCS in a vMware 6.X environment to support the Control System Platform Enclave (CSPE) under the Technical Direction of the NAVFAC Technical Lead. Individual will provide engineering expertise to include:
Will work with other system engineers to build windows server 2012R2 Domains to include Read Only Domain Controllers, configure group policies, DNS, and Active Directory. The candidate will need to be familiar with SQL 2014 and availability groups. Will assist with the deployment of System Center 2012r2, WSUS, and HBSS components. Candidate will have a solid understanding of ACAS vulnerability and STIG analysis.
Ability to perform (advanced level) configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of Window servers, ESXi hosts, SQL, VMware services.
Troubleshoot technical issues related to information Assurance (IA) compliance.
Adherence to technical guidance and quality standards, as communicated by the NAVFAC Technical Lead.
Attend technical, project, and status meetings.
Provide percent complete, level of effort and duration information to the Project Management Staff weekly
Raise roadblocks and technical issues for resolution to the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) Project Manager and NAVFAC Technical Lead.
Collaborate with other System Administrators on build and fielding teams to ensure CSPE system continuity.
Utilizes and refines existing procedures and checklists for building and sustainment of a complex system. Deploy servers to support applications such as System Center, WSUS, SQL, HBSS, files servers. Create file permissions and establishes password and account policies; installs, upgrades, configures, tests, maintains and supports operating system software in a nonproduction environment. Deploy and configure various NetApp filers with data on tap 8.X. Responsible for installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. Troubleshoots and resolve complex system hardware, software and communications problems; creates shell programs and utility scripts; performs configurations and adjustments to improve system performance or streamline deployments.
Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. Ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to DOD Cyber Security Requirements. Recommends and directs software changes, patches, and updates to keep systems compliant. Deploy HBSS components, troubleshoot HIPS and antivirus issues. Performs system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. Develops methodology to expand flexibility of programs or systems to meet changing needs of users. Ability to perform actions on more than one system simultaneously. Strong understanding of DOD STIG, SCAP tools, and ACAS finding requirements and procedures. Provides technical guidance to less experienced systems administrators.
Security+ and enrolled in Continuing Education (CE) Program, SCNP, SSCP) certification IAW DoDD 8570 Information Assurance Training, Certification, and Workforce Management and DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program. SQL Database experience, and at least one of the following certifications within 6 months of employment: Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert-Server (MCSE-Serv) Server Infrastructure or; Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert-Server (MCSE-Serv) Desktop Infrastructure or; Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert-Server (MCSE-Serv) or; Microsoft Certified IT Professional -“ Windows Server (MCITP) Administrator on Windows Server 8 or; Microsoft Certified IT Professional -“ Windows Server (MCITP) Virtualization Administrator on Windows Server 8 or; VMWare Certified Professional (Vsphere 5) (VCP5).
A strong working knowledge of SQL, System Center, NetApp or Cisco UCS,HBSS, WSUS, ACAS also a plus.
Excellent organization and communication skills.
Requires that candidate has an active DoD Secret security clearance.
Completion of the SPAWAR IA training - Cyber Awareness Challenge DoD version will be required upon hire.
Typically requires bachelor's degree or equivalent, and seven to nine years of related experience.
Recent Navy experience would be a plus.
