The DevOps Software Engineer supports customer software development and integration tasks necessiated to develop and maintain the continuous integration, continuous delivery DevOps environment, including supporting automated low to high data transfers between code repositories. The candidate also develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements. Additional duties and resonsibilties include:
-Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of COTS/GOTS in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components
-Designs, implements, and integrates software applications or performs software engineering tasks
-Utilizes software engineering and design methodologies appropriate to the development, integration, and production environment
-Ensures efficient delivery of software engineering capabilities using industry standards and repeatable processes - Mitigates risks, controls costs and schedule variance, and effectively manages large scale, integrated software projects
-Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Typically requires bachelor's degree or equivalent and seven to nine years of related experience.
REQUIRED EDUCATION and YEARS of RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
-High School Diploma/ GED + 12 years relevant experience in addition to education level OR
-Associates Degree (related to area) + 10 years relevant experience in addition to education level OR
-Bachelors Degree (related to area) + 8 years relevant experience OR
-Masters Degree (related to area) + 6 years relevant experience OR
-PhD (related to areas) + 4 years relevant experience
Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
