The principal function of the System Engineer position is to provide a high quality, secure, and resilient hosting platform that supports the organization's operational mission and business needs.
Primary responsibilities include providing premier Tier-4 engineering support for the global enterprise hosting platform infrastructure with strong emphasis on designing and implementing highly available, reusable automation or workflow services to expand and/or modify enterprise infrastructure hosting platform capabilities/services.

Apply industry/organizational best practices and supporting processes for the planning, analysis, design, and engineering of new or enhanced enterprise hosting platform capabilities and services.
Perform technical evaluations, analysis, and troubleshooting for all supported enterprise field hosting platform infrastructure components (compute, storage, hypervisor etc.). Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Analyze hosting platform capacity and throughput requirements in response to demand forecasts and operations trends to determine, plan, and provide hosting platform engineering capabilities/ services to support existing and projected workloads.
Identify system integrity issues and solutions for the full system life cycle from concept to disposal. Provide staff and users with assistance solving computer related problems, such as malfunctions and program problems. Answer questions/resolve field hosting platform malfunctions/problems for clients in person, via telephone, or using automated tools with remote access to system being evaluated.
Utilize PowerShell and/or other scripting language to support virtualization and aggregation of the underlying physical hardware resources across multiple systems and virtual resources. Monitor managed enterprise infrastructure platforms to identify performance issues and ensure the overall system integrity.
Build servers and provide specified server administration support related to the hosting platform infrastructure. Interpret pre-existing PowerShell scripts. Ensure that all relevant security patches are current.
Prepare technical engineering documentation, including both system-level and user-level documentation, as appropriate. Also provide relevant technical sustainment engineering training inputs.
Understand and implement established enterprise infrastructure engineering technical/ workflow procedures and the change management process.
Lead/participate in Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs) to assist in resolving issues/concerns, as well as establishing/ refining enterprise infrastructure engineering standards and procedures.
Apply business process improvement practices to re-engineer methodologies and principles and business process modernization projects. Assist in establishing standards for information systems/engineering procedures and processes. Recommend and implement approved process/tool enhancements to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization's Change Management and Configuration Management processes and systems.
Provide Tier- 4 hosting platform engineering support for assigned incident/trouble tickets, service requests, and change requests submitted by internal/external customers.
Ensure services are provided according to the prescribed and relevant Service Level Agreement (SLA) and Operational Level Agreement (OLA). Communicate outage/degradation of service issues and concerns to management in accordance with SLA/ OLA.

Solid Tier 4 troubleshooting/ support skills for global enterprise
Knowledgeable of networking hardware, protocols and administration, and system integration across multi -tiered highly secure IT environments
Strong experience with VMware technologies and Hyper- V
Strong experience NetApp storage technologies
Experience with Cisco UCS and Hewlett-Packard
Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell
Familiarity with REST services
Strong customer service orientation
Experience with quality assurance, testing and validation processes
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple tasks while under pressure
Ability to self-learn, act on own initiative and work in a dynamic environment
Strong oral and written communication skills

Candidate must have one of the following:
12 Years of job related experience and High School/GED diploma
10 Years of job related experience and Associate degree
8 Years of job related experience and Bachelor’s degree
