Job Description

Position Summary:

Be an integral part of the Software Engineering Center (SEC), one of the most experienced and comprehensive software support centers within the Department of Defense (DoD). SEC’s key mission is to provide systematic, disciplined, and best value engineering services for, Software and Data Architectures in support of both the internal needs and external needs of Program Executive Offices (PEOs), Program/Project, Product Managers (PMs), and other DoD Organizations.


  • Writes technical specifications, reports, brochures, and/or manuals for internal documentation, customer reference or publications. 
  • Plan, develop, organize, write and edit operational procedures and manuals
  • Research, develop and document technical design specifications and test scripts
  • Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content
  • Manage updates and revisions to technical literature

Required Skills:

  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent research and organization skills
  • Advanced skills with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel are required
  • Strong customer-service skills
  • Planning and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline oriented, work environment
  • Current DoD security clearance
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience
  • Must be able to exercise quality control over documentation intended for external distribution. 
  • Must be capable of reviewing customer drawings and data and translate customer language into standard procedures and product flow. 
  • Associate’s Degree in a related field is highly desirable.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with DoD systems and Technical Manual specifications
  • TFS or JIRA experience
