The position of Release Manager will be responsible for the overall scheduling, planning, and execution of dot releases. Dot releases will be releases that occur on a scheduled basis and include SPR (Software Problem Report) fixes and potentially delivered Oracle PeopleSoft patches. The position will also have oversight over the Configuration Management process. Specifically the scheduling and execution of the migration of objects to support the releases. The Release Manager will also have oversight over training impacts and updates. Updates to training will be scheduled to be part of the dot releases.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordination and Execution of dot releases, including scheduling, status, checkpoints and meetings
  • Ensure all stakeholders are participating in the release process and have a clear understanding of the status and what is included
  • Debrief of Releases to validate the results
  • Help manage the CM process and ensure that team members are aware of the schedule and any requirements for moving code.
  • Establish and enforce cutoffs for code migrations for releases
  • Work with Training team to verify impact of releases and any updates to materials that might be needed
  • Manage the execution of the data resets and environment refreshes of the training environments

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or other technically relevant degree
  • 10+ years of experience with Configuration Management
  • 10+ years of project management experience
  •  5+ years of experience using PeopleSoft or other ERP system
  •  5+ years of experience using configuration management tools to keep versions of code and migrate it to environments.
  • Ability to plan and track work of others
  • Ability to organize and lead meetings to communicate status and planning
  • Must be a team player and be able to adjust to a dynamic working environment that supports a government agency
  • Must have strong written, verbal, and listening skills
  • Must have strong analytical skills and can demonstrate strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner and success working in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
  • Ability to attain active Secret clearance


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with STAT
  • ERP implementation experience in large scale projects
  • Experience with training products such as UPK


Physical Demands:

  • Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Up to 10% of time for travel may be required.
