Responsible for resolving IT hardware and software infrastructure (servers, network, security, etc.) issues using systems analysis techniques and procedures to ensure appropriate function of hardware, software or system functional specifications.  Analyzes, troubleshoots and resolves issues with IT infrastructure including user systems, servers, storage and network connectivity. Provides system administration for assigned infrastructure and establishes and maintains security as it relates to users. Applies security patches and operating system upgrades to ensure the security and integrity of the technical environment.  Supports new infrastructure projects.  Maintains all configuration documentation for assigned infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor (identifying and remediating issues) the overall environment to include servers, networks and back-ups
  • Be responsive and decisive on adjusting product architecture as customer requirements, market conditions and technology evolves
  • Design and develop initial prototypes/proofs of concept and validate them for technical design and performance
  • Support, coordinate and prioritize customer problem resolutions
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise when required to other team members and teams as needed
  • Identify and articulate new technology, design methodology and best practices
  • Lead a small technology team 3 or more direct reports to include providing administrative oversight of those direct reports by providing, task direction, goal planning, performance review, etc.
  • Provide mentorship to other employees

Typically requires bachelor's degree or equivalent, and minimum 10 to 12 years of related experience in the following:

  • Strong Active Directory and DNS skillsets
  • Working knowledge of Server Roles, IIS, Printservers, DHCP, LDAP, etc.
  • Adequate networking experience, understanding IP routing protocols
  • Experience supporting software development environment
  • Designing, administering and supporting Windows 2003, 2008, 2012
  • VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter/vCloud to include experience with migrations and upgrades
  • Some NetApp experience (Data On Tap, OnCommand, Snapshots)
  • Citrix XenDesktop or other VDI solution
  • A strong technical background in internetworking and interoperability, including extensive experience with enterprise or data center networking topology and logical concepts
  • Experience in managing team of direct reports of 3 or more individuals
  • Lead and drive team development efforts towards successful project delivery


  • Azure 
  • Technical Certifications (MCSE, VCP, etc)
  • Experience working in a DevOps environment and with automated scripting
  • Experience in administrating, installing, and configuring COTS software to include ColdFusion, MetaStorm, Business Objects and BizTalk
  • Experience working with Microsoft IIS, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and Tomcat (web server)
  • Experience scripting and automation in a Windows environment (ex. PowerShell, VBScript, Ruby, etc.)
  • Experience working with GPO's (Group Policy's) and Policy Management
  • Experience working with SSL certificates
  • Experience working with NetApp storage provisioning with NFS and CIFS

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires bachelor's degree and 10 to 12 years of related experience.


  • US citizenship with active Secret security clearance.
