The candidate’s primary responsibilities will be to support the the implementation and rollout of both SAP's ILM and xECM functionality to manage storage and retrieval of data.   The primary delivery of the effort will be managed by another vendor.  The purpose of this position is to serve as the customer advocate supporting the vendor implementation and helping to ensure the objectives of the government are met.  Duties will be to primarily to serve as the functional SME for the customer playing a key role on the project team.  Working closely with both the customer and the vendor; serving as mediator as required to ensure software capabilities are clearly understood by the customer while customer requirements are clearly understood by the vendor.


  • Assist the vendor/government project team to develop and implement SAP ILM IRM Policy Engine and Open Text Extended Enterprise Content Management for SAP Solutions (xECM)
  • Assist the vendor/government project team to develop and implement SAP ILM for creating, applying, and changing business rules for automatically managing storage and retrieval of data.
  • Work with the vendor/government project team to develop and implement xECM for enterprise content management capabilities, including document management, records management.   Another aspect of this work will be removing attachments stored directly in SAP and move them over to OpenText in preparation for the government’s migration to HANA.
  • Work with teams to define and implement automatic, rule-based archiving (into read-only memory) based on data characteristics;
  • Work with teams to develop and establish automatic, rule-based destruction of expired data (prestaging of expiring data into separate archive volumes by expiration date);
  • Develop and/or update training materials, including participant guides, presentation slides, exercises, work instructions, quick and reference guides
  •  Acting as a SME, participate and work with Functional Teams and/or Subject Matter Experts in system blueprinting and change control process to gather requirements, assess implementation/objectives and training impacts
  • As a SME supporting the government project team, assist with the installation and integration of ILM and xECM with desired components in all environments, supporting testing, and all other implementation activities through initial GO-Live in Production

Required Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 7-10 years of IT experience
  • 3-5 years of experience developing SAP xECM based solutions.
  • Appropriate SAP certification and/or training with SAP ILM/xECM and related products and methodologies.
  • Experience working with SAP4/HANA platform, SAP Core Financials/Property and applications
  • Ability to plan and managing the integration of ILM and xECM with the BIO configuration and change management tools (SAP Solution Manager - CHARM, Testing, monitoring, Solution Documentation)
  • Experience in developing appropriate configuration, training, and blueprint documentation normally developed as part of SAP deployment methodologies
  • 3-5 years of experience developing SAP ILM based solutions.
  • Ability to plan and oversee the cut-over tasks to ILM;
  • Strong analysis capability; able to lead efforts independently with minimal supervision, such as interviewing and collecting data from various teams across the organization
  • Experience with various project management methodologies, as the customer utilizes both from the agile category and waterfall
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills
  • Strong facilitation/oral presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel
  • Excellent team player with demonstrated capability to work on multi-vendor projects.
  • Capable of working independently with little direction on time-sensitive projects
