CACI has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer 4 to work in our Norfolk, VA office, with up to 10% travel. This individual will be responsible for actively managing and supporting the maintenance, upgrade and deployment of network hardware and software. Both IT and non-IT related engineering subject matter expertise is required to support the full engineering lifecycle. Responsible for implementing, and operating the organization's information technology resources, including computer hardware, operating systems, communications, software applications and information technology security. Activities may include developing polices, plans and training in support of information technology users.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, enforcing system standards and remediating security vulnerabilities.
Provides specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
Ensures central operational support for all shared computing equipment. Provides architecture guidance, support, and coordination and ensures application of information security/IA policies and practices.
Responsible for resolving IT hardware and software infrastructure (servers, network, security, etc.) issues using systems analysis techniques and procedures to ensure appropriate function of hardware, software or system functional specifications.
Ensures day-to-day security of IT systems to include physical security, incident handling, security awareness, continuity of operations, training and education is applied IAW regulations and directives. “Provides system administration for assigned infrastructure and establishes and maintains security as it relates to users.”
Works within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
Performs network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
Assist with technical input to installation guides, SOPs, and engineering documents.
Understand and navigate Host Based Security Systems | Host Intrusion Protection Systems.
Recognized subject matter expert
Bachelor Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience and minimum 7 years of related work experience related to Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Test & Evaluation, and/or Training.
The ability to work independently with limited oversight from manager
Excellent organization and communication skills.
Must have a current Information Assurance (IA) Technical Level II or III (i.e. GSEC, Security+, SCNP, SSCP) certification
IAW DoD 8570 series Information Assurance Training and completed a Windows server and/or workstation operating system certification course.
Must have an active DoD Secret clearance.
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert -MCSE would be viewed as beneficial.
Microsoft Hyper-Visor technologies
Certification in virtualization technologies and products such as VMWare, and remote administration tools.
Experience with scripting and Oracle database queries.
Experience with firewalls, switches, routers, SAN, proxy servers, antivirus, web servers, and server hardware maintenance.
Experience with Naval operating environments (i.e. CANES, ISNS, SubLAN, etc.)
