Job Description

CACI is looking for a seasoned System Architect to lead the design of modernized solutions within DoD from concept to production.


  • Establishes system architecture and reviews proposed baseline changes to determine architectural impacts to the enterprise. Performs external and internal interface analysis to ensure that enterprise architecture is cohesive internally and integrates with systems external to the enterprise.
  • Works with cutting-edge technologies to design, analyze, and document architectural and engineering requirements, and ensures that the enterprise solution meets today’s requirements while positioning the enterprise to be ready for future technology disruptions minimizing risks of dealing with end-of-life components.
  • Analyze, document, recommend, present, and review improvements from a technical architecture perspective. Position requires the ability to provide technical architectural artifacts and supporting documentation in both Enterprise and Data designs in accordance with standard development practices.
  •  Verifies consistency with and identifies discrepancies between the enterprise architecture and system baseline designs proposed by execution teams.  Assists teams in resolving discrepancies.
  • Builds and uses analysis models and techniques to support the evaluation of current and proposed future architectures.
  • Identifies architectural and technology risks with the potential to impact system requirements; develops goals and plans to mitigate risks.
  • Defines IT architecture issues and allocates requirements. Identifies hardware and software architectural needs and solutions.
  • Designs real-time software applications on selected platforms.
  • Establishes project development practices to achieve reliable results.
  • Proposes changes to the enterprise technical architecture based on analysis of requirements and new technologies. May act as an advisor to system engineers.
  • Work directly with executive level clients to present technical solutions.
  • Work directly with senior technical, business staff to translate complex customer requirements into working, maintainable solutions
  • Recommend and adapt off-the-shelf solutions to meet government customer needs and requirements
  • Design, develop, and implement Web-enabled solutions using a variety of technologies
  • Research, Design and develop complex enterprise-level web applications built on relational databases  
  • Produce Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) design artifacts
  • Work in a collaborative agile team environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong conceptual and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience presenting, explaining, and defending solution designs to team members and business owners.
  • Excellent group facilitation skills.
  • Technical software and/or systems team leadership experience.
  • Experience with Data Modeling, Data Migration techniques, Relational Database designs to include Data Marts and Data Warehouse schemas.
  • Knowledge of business applications such as Oracle Enterprise Business Suite, data warehouses, and integration of custom software solutions into such environments.
  • Significant technical experience developing application modernization solutions with expert knowledge in either application or data centric technologies.
  • Working experience with .net / java  frameworks
  • Technical experience developing solutions specific to a variety of cloud computing architectures.
  • Experience with DoDAF and the ability to create the appropriate artifacts
  • Experience working with system accrediation, security and controls.
  • Excellent presentation skills with experience presenting to executives and associated stakeholders.
  • Experience working with agile software development methodology, processes, and techniques
    Ability to mentor technical and nontechnical staff
  • U.S. Citizen with active secret clearance
  • Knowledge of EA software tools


  • Typically requires bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering; and 10+ years of related work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with the DoD.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience architecting application or data centric solutions.
