We are seeking a Lead Engineer for the Marine Corps ERP, Global Combat Support System - Marine Corps (GCSS-MC). GCSS-MC is a multi-increment program of record for Logistics Chain Management (LCM) intended to modernize the entire United States Marine Corps (USMC) logistics architecture systems and management capabilities, provides near real-time visibility of retail supply, wholesale supply, equipment maintenance, and repair transactions. GCSS-MC is a Major Automated Information System (MAIS) Acquisition Category (ACAT-I) program that utilizes Oracle R12 E-Business Suite (EBS) and Oracle 10g Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications with customization of Reports, Interface, Conversion and Enhancement (RICE) objects. The system includes a customized CAC-enabled authentication architecture with role based authorizations, a reporting capability handled by the Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer; an advanced Planning Suite (APS); a mobile field service (MFS) application; and customized workflows in support of 20+ external partners via 40+ interfaces utilizing the Oracle Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) tools with Business to Business (B2B) functionality. GCSS-MC/LCM increment 1 is comprised of five environments serving different purposes: Production (PROD), Production Support System (PSS), Development (DEV), Configuration Managed, and Training. The PROD and PSS environments reside within the same hardware system but are logically separated. The DEV and CM environments also share common hardware but are also logically separated. The Training environment is a separate environment that allows for the development, testing, and dissemination of training system updates and training material. Each environment has its own instance of the GCSS-MC/LCM Increment 1 application to support its function.
CACI is looking for a GCSS MC Lead Engineer with over five years of experience working with the Oracle EBS capable of leading a large team of IT professionals delivering technical and functional support to our Marine Corps customer. The GCSS MC Lead Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the system through root cause analyses, technical refreshes and system upgrades that seek to optimize and enhance overall system performance in a cost effective manner.
Reporting to a CACI Program Manager, the GCSS MC Lead Engineer will be responsible for meeting the Operations and Support system engineering objectives.
The candidate will provide input into project plans for the technical and business solutions and process re-engineering activities
Recommends operational plans and strategies that will directly impact the achievement of overall functional results.
Will manage technical teams and provide direct oversight for daily operational functions.
Manages the execution of strategies established by functional leadership.
Establishes operational plans for job area with short- to mid-term impact on results (e.g., 1-2 years).
Work requires a high degree of responsibility for resources, and frequently influences business decisions made by functional leadership.
Provide system engineering support through the design, development, test and deployment of system changes/updates.
Maintain the solution architecture providing updates to the system diagrams and architectural drawings to reflect any changes to the baseline architecture.
Execute and Supervise tasks associated with software engineering, software development, interface management and data management, configuration management and code management, test/release/validation management.
Responsible for planning the operations team’s resource requirements and organizational structure, and acquiring resources. Provides day-to-day leadership and guidance to engineer team leads and team members.
Capable of assessing Oracle E-Business Suite R12’s performance and providing recommendations to enhance quality of service.
Provides senior level leadership for improving and enhancing ITSM processes using ITIL v3 best practices and ISO-20000 guidelines.
Management Skills and Experience:
Five years of prior experience leading operations for a federal technology program using a customized version of the Oracle E-Business Suite platform.
Five years of technical experience in network operations or IT operations center.
Capable of maintaining consistent hardware and software baselines across all environments.
Experience using EXADATA 6-2.
Provides coordination and leadership in the execution of day-to-day program activities.
Skilled at staffing, prioritizing and managing multiple teams of 50 technology practitioners delivering operational support services.
Strong oral and written communications.
Ability to prepare and lead program level briefings with senior customers and team members to include operational reporting.
Experience dealing with external DoD service providers
Coordinates activities across vendor and government teams.
Technical Skills and Experience:
Expert understanding of ITSM using ITIL v3 best practices, processes and procedures including IT Change Management, and Incident and Problem Management
Strong understanding of relevant technologies with a focus on Oracle products including network, server and storage technologies, web-based and client server architectures, business intelligence and data warehousing solutions, and Oracle E-Business Suite based solutions.
Understanding of federal IT security standards and processes.
Experience defining system monitoring and event management solutions.
Skilled at defining, implementing and evaluating SLA’s and operational metrics.
Position requires the ability to obtain/maintain a government public trust, an adjudicated personnel security investigation (PSI) through a T-1 or a National Agency Check with Written Inquiries.
Master’s degree or higher in engineering or computer science
5+ years of experience working in a network operations or IT operations center.
