Job Description


BIT Systems is looking for a Systems Engineer to support end to end integration testing, regression testing, quality control, and provide systems engineering support for a web application at the Dulles, VA office (Headquarters).  Candidates are expected to have excellent communication and oral skills, significant process experience, and work well in a small team environment.  Candidates should be familiar with the Systems Engineering life-cycle and have previous integration and test experience.   Candidates must be self-motivated individuals who can understand technical concepts, clearly communicate them to a varying range of audiences/understanding levels, collaborate on technical direction with development team and lead a team in execution of a plan.

  • Lead the testing and delivery of new and existing capabilities:
    • Work with government witnesses to execute Factory and Site acceptance testing
    • Develop/Maintain and execute test procedures and write Discrepancy Reports as necessary
    • Develop/Maintain system test plans and software delivery procedures
    • Execute end to end integration testing and perform requirements verification
    • Maintain test and delivery schedule
    • Participate in the System design process
    • Monitor development progress, aiding in design refinement
    • Coordinate and perform system deliveries
    • Coordination with site maintainers
    • DR allocation and tracking

Typically requires bachelor's degree and seven to nine years of related experience.
  • Experience with regression testing, end-to-end integration testing, modern test methodologies, and ability to track and maintain the teams testing schedule
  • Ability to document test steps, test results, and write detailed Discrepancy Reports (DRs) for developers
  • Experience preparing for and leading software witness testing
  • Technical writing skills to include: requirements documentation, concepts of operation, software release notes, user guides, and maintenance manuals
  • Experience in coordination and installation of systems to customer locations
  • Knowledge of Intelligence Community (IC) processes, policies and guidance
  • Perform traditional System Engineering tasks (requirement creation/management, create and maintain technical documentation, lead technical discussions, etc.)
  • Ability to assist the development team with software integration activities
  • Able to work independently
  • Experience with mission management/planning systems
  • Experience with Configuration Management and CM best practices
  • Experience with architecture development and documentation
  • Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems
  • Experience with Automated Testing
  • Experience with the ICD 503 accreditation process
  • Experience in virtualized operations and deployment
  • Experience with Messaging and/or ESB Technologies
  • Experience with Oracle database products
  • Experience with AWS
  • Experience leading teams

Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
