Job Description

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience with full life-cycle software development (analysis, design, development, test, deployment, maintenance).
  • Security+ or CISSP Certification
  • Knowledge of file systems, cloud storage, network resources, and an understanding of data redundancy and availability
  • Familiarity with the Agile Scrum software development methodologies.
  • Ability to break down high-level tasking into smaller units of work and self-manage development progress in working toward set deadlines
  • Experience applying industry best practices to ensure system performance, reliability, scalability and security.
  • Java programming experience in a Unix/Linux environment.
  • Experience with continuous integration and software CM processes / tools (Subversion, GIT, JIRA, Confluence).
  • Experience with design and development of Object Oriented systems.
  • Experience with web application design and development.
  • Ability to write clear, consistent, simple to use interfaces
  • Ability to write quality unit tests
  • Strong troubleshooting/problem solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to articulate design concepts and technology benefits.
  • Understanding of repeatable automated processes for building an application, testing it, documenting it, and deploying it at scale
  • Experience with the following technologies:
    • Java
    • Linux/Shell scripting
    • Postgresql or similar RDBMS

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience with the following technologies:
    • Spring Boot, Spring Cloud
    • Apache Kafka, Redis, Elastic Stack
    • HTML5/CSS3
    • Javascript (experience with Vue.js or other component-based Javascript library even better)
    • Docker/Container Technologies
    • RPMs, Puppet
  • Familiarity with microservice and/or message-oriented architecture
  • Front End/GUI experience; Experience with Responsive Web Design.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Basic understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware).
  • Experience with architecture development and documentation.
  • Experience building/deploying/maintaining systems within NRO C2S cloud environment.
