Act as the lead Enterprise Architecture working in collaboration with Enterprise Engineering to conduct comprehensive analysis, design, planning and successfully implementation of the OneNet network strategy. Under the leadership of the Sr. Enterprise Architect, this functional area is responsible for the network planning, network modelling, performance engineering and network stability of the OneNet network’s existing and future network infrastructure enhancements and capabilities.
More specifically this person is expected to:
Architect, plan, design, and developing the network infrastructure with a forward-looking approach to ensure the OneNet WAN evolves into a more secure, resilient, innovative, mature, scalable, and cost efficient network, integrating new technologies and services.
Ensure the network security architecture remains in compliance with security standards and complies with federal and DHS architectural and System Engineering Life Cycle (SELC) guidelines, FISMA (Federal Information Security Modernization Act), and FITARA (Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act).
Drive the evolution of the OneNet network toward a more resilient, secure and modern wide area network, incorporating robust ITIL processes and CMMI-SVC levels of maturity while keeping the OneNet network architecture design and security posture.
Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) written certification required
Must have documented 10+ years routing/switching experience in an engineering support capacity in Wide Area Networks (WAN):
With more than 1,000 sites throughout the continental US, OCONUS and international locations.
Which transport voice, data, video and have:
Planned transition to newer architectures including use of software defined networks, cloud services, advanced monitoring, etc.
Managed several web-based applications, used by at least 50K customers
Managed more than 5 enterprise-wide services being transported by the WAN, (which are being operated by other vendors and service providers)
Facilitated extranet connections to other entities (such as federal, state, local and tribal agencies, as well as non-governmental organizations and private industry).
Which manage more than 50 critical applications, with very critical response times to address real-time technical issues.
Hands-on experience providing technical and procedural recommendations regarding transitioning new and changed architecture designs into operational environments (example: transition from Networx to EIS, transition from DHS MTIPS+ Managed Services provider to a new or additional Managed Services provider, migrating from Data Center services to a Cloud Services Provider, cloud migration, virtualization, etc.).
