Job Description

What you’ll get to do:

As a System Administrator, you will maintain and improve system software and applications for GLAIVE systems.

More about your role:

You will maintain Linux-based systems as well as software backups and software development tools.

  • Assist Systems Engineers with the analysis of user and system requirements and constraints.
  • Analyze system specifications and translate system requirements.
  • Utilize scripting tools to assist with routine system administration tasks.
  • Perform system updates, backups, anti-virus package installations and create and maintain user accounts.
  • Troubleshoot network problems as required.
  • Provide technical support to system integration efforts in lab and during field installations.
  • Perform tests and assessments to determine if systems comply with policies and constraints.

You’ll bring these qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline and 8 years + of experience related in the IT field or equivalent work/education experience and knowledge of systems administration.
  • 10 years of experience with LINUX/UNIX systems, architectures, and associated hardware; mainframe, mini, or client/server based.
  • 1 year experience in SIGINT system development, integration or testing.
  • 4 years of DNS, NFS, SSH, and NTP experience.
  • 4 years of computer networking including node configuration and management.
  • 4 years of router and other network communications equipment configuration, maintenance and management.
  • RHCSA certified

These qualifications would be nice to have:

  • Security Certifications (Security+, Network+, CEH, CISSP, or equivalent)
  • Experience working with IT customers within the Department of Defense.
