Position Summary:

The Curriculum Developer Intelligence Tactics Instructor – Officer (ITI-O) will develop curriculum and instruction for the MCTOG Intelligence Tactics Program in accordance with the Systems Approach to Training and Education (SATE), relevant T&R Manuals, and MCO 1553.2B.  Develop formal Programs of Instruction (POIs) and the requisite Master Lesson File, Instructor Guides, Student Handouts, and course materials.  Adhere to the SATE and all applicable Marine Corps and TECOM orders and directives that pertain to curriculum development and instruction.  Ensure that all curricula are developed properly and best support the operational requirements of the Operating Forces and student learning.  Curriculum objectives are based on meeting the most relevant operational needs of the Marine Corps.  Coordinate with the Marine Corps Tactics and Operations Group (MCTOG) staff and other SMEs to conduct the technical and procedural evaluation of training materials and programs ensuring Intelligence concepts are weaved into existing and applicable course material.

Responsibilities:

  • The Curriculum Developer will develop curriculum and instruction for the MCTOG Intelligence Tactics Program in accordance with the Systems Approach to Training and Education (SATE), relevant T&R Manuals, and MCO 1553.2B.
  • Develop formal Programs of Instruction (POIs) and the requisite Master Lesson File, Instructor Guides, Student Handouts, and course materials. 
  • Coordinate with the Marine Corps Tactics and Operations Group (MCTOG) staff and other SMEs to conduct the technical and procedural evaluation of training materials and programs ensuring Intelligence concepts are weaved into existing and applicable course material.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required and 15 years minimum of military experience is required, 20 plus years of experience is preferred. A Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., strategic studies, international relations) is preferred.
  •  Graduate of Marine Corps EWS (resident or non-resident) (previously Amphibious Warfare School) or other service equivalent.
  • Graduate of Marine Corps Command and Staff College (CSC) or other service equivalent required.
  • Must be a former military officer or senior staff NCO with

    operations and training experience;

  • USMC background is preferred.

  • Served in key billet within unit level operations required.

  • One or more deployments to expeditionary or contingency operations is required. Deployments to OIF/OEF is preferred.

  • Service on senior military staff and experience conducting Joint and Marine Corps Planning Processes—both deliberate and rapid planning processes – is required.

  • Experience in Joint planning, doctrine and operations.

Desired Skills:

  •  Garrison work environment
  • Routine work schedule: M-F 0700 to 1700
  • Occasional extended working hours will be required to meet deadlines or during support to exercises
  • Typically, employees sit comfortably to do their work, interspersed by brief periods of standing, walking, bending, carrying papers and books, and extensive periods requiring the use of computer terminals to accomplish work objectives.
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds
  • Must be able to work in austere conditions with temperature and environmental conditions experienced in the High Desert.
