Job Description

Serve as a Junior Database Administrator for USAID’s Office of Acquisition and Assistance (M/OAA).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for Assistance and Acquisition Reporting for USAID’s  Office of Acquisition and Assistance (M/OAA)
  • Responsible for Data Quality Reporting and Ad hoc data reports
  • Administer and manage Oracle databases and MS SQL Server databases
  • Participate in Data Modeling and design of the Database.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for Assistance and Acquisition Reporting for USAID’s  Office of Acquisition and Assistance (M/OAA)
  • Responsible for Data Quality Reporting and Ad hoc data reports
  • Administer and manage Oracle databases and MS SQL Server databases
  • Participate in Data Modeling and design of the Database.
  • Deploy database objects/changes to different environments including production.
  • Monitor and tune Oracle databases for optimal performance. Tune SQL queries.
  • Assist and work with developers to resolve Oracle database and related issues.
  • Implement corrective and preventive steps to maintain optimal database health.
  • Maintain database documentation.
  • Interact and collaborate with clients through ServiceNow tickets, emails, meetings and phone calls.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Bachelors degree and up to 3 years of relative experience.
  • Requires an active Secret Clearance.
  • Understanding of Relational Database Concepts, Database Backup and recovery methodology, Database Performance Tuning methodology and Data Modeling and Development Tools
  • Oracle Data Warehousing
  • SQL Data Analytics
  • 2-4 years of application development experience in SQL, PL/SQL
  • 2-4  years of Oracle DBA experience supporting Oracle 11g/12c on Windows and/or Unix platforms
  • 1-3 years of MS Excel experience

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Oracle WebLogic Application Server experience a strong plus
  • VBA, Java, PHP, ITIL, FAR, ETL, Tableau, SubVersion
  • Familiarity with Oracle Development Tools (Forms/Reports/JDeveloper).
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good problem solving and documentation skills
  • Deploy database objects/changes to different environments including production.
