Job Description

What You’ll Get to Do:
CACI is searching for a Test Environment Administrator to join our team in Chantilly, VA. You will be a systems and network administrator for Dev/Test/Pre-Production environments and will assist in the testing of innovative Cyber Security Solutions in support of DHS and according to DHS Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC) requirements. 

More About the Role:

  • Responsible for resolving IT hardware and software infrastructure (servers, network, security, etc.) issues using systems analysis techniques and procedures to ensure appropriate function of hardware, software or system functional specifications. 
  • Support the initial stand up, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of CDM DEFEND A virtual test lab environment and Deployable CDM Toolkit
  • Execute patches and configuration changes to ensure configuration baseline against CDM solution production environment
  • Develop and maintain test environment and deployable CDM Toolkit assets, CIs, and network topologies
  • Analyzes, troubleshoots and resolves issues with IT infrastructure including user systems, servers, storage and network connectivity.
  • Provides system administration for assigned infrastructure and establishes and maintains security as it relates to users.
  • Applies security patches and operating system upgrades to ensure the security and integrity of the technical environment. 
  • Supports new infrastructure projects. 
  • Maintains all configuration documentation for assigned infrastructure.
  • Provide support to an independent organization conducting Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) testing of the infrastructure and develop Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms) to address critical findings
  • Perform test and evaluation of infrastructure components
  • Influence and/or educate non-testing personnel regarding testing policies, practices and procedures
  • If required, maintain adherence to Joint Operating Agreements (JOA) with other contractor IV&V staff
  • Support Request for Service (RFS) Test for SDR, SRR, and PRR SELC phase gates
  • Assist Test Lab Manager in disseminating proper Network Maintenance Alerts (NMA) for all test events
  • Wherever possible, assist Test Lab Manager in maintaining continuous test lab availability throughout all phases of Developmental and Operational Test and Evaluation DT&E/OT&E 
  • Wherever possible, assist Test Lab Manager in maintaining continuous Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) throughout all phase of Developmental and Operation test & evaluation
  • Interface directly with other CACI and DHS technical and programmatic staff to facilitate testing
  • Deconflict scheduled testing and Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities.
  • assist Test Lab Manager in maintaining test environment
  • assist Test Lab Manager in availability and hygiene of testing enclaves

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Well-developed understanding of systems administration including Multiple versions of Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems, Active Directory, Exchange, Security Groups, Group Policy, Remote Desktop, role based access, two-factor authentication, smart card, etc.
  • Well-developed understanding of network administration including building networks from the ground up (Layer 1-4 OSI Model experience), subnetting, segmentation, TFTP, SSH, Putty and other terminal access tools and methods, etc. 
  • Well-developed understanding of Virtualization technologies, e.g. VMware vCenter, Oracle Virtual Box, Microsoft Hyper-V, OVirt, etc. 
  • Understand and be able to perform vulnerability scanning with tools like BeyondTrust Retina, or Tenable Nessus Security Center, etc.
  • Execute patches and configuration changes to ensure configuration baseline against CDM solution production environment
  • Develop and maintain test environment and deployable CDM Toolkit assets, CIs, and network topologies

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Relevant DHS or .gov Cyber Security focused experience
  • Understanding of Developmental, Operational, and Security Test and Evaluation procedures.
  • Ability to understand Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) development, as well as test case & test step development 
  • Understanding of Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and ideally the DHS Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) as it relates to Developmental, Operational, and Security Test and Evaluation.
  • Strong understanding of Developmental, Operational, Security, Agile, and Regression Testing and Evaluation procedures.
  • Microsoft Technology Specialist, Desktop Support Specialist or other certifications, e.g. Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) Certification (preferred but not required)
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or other certifications (preferred but not required)
  • Splunk, Cloud, or Agile based certifications, e.g. Splunk User/Power User, Scrum Master (preferred but not required)
  • Python scripting experience preferred or Perl, Bash, etc.
  • ITIL Certification(s)
  • Technical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
  • University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 3 years of related work experience.
